United Steaks of America
United Steaks of America © Dominic Episcopo
This past Saturday we drove down to Philly to drop off prints for my Domesticated show that opens this Thursday at the Print Center. We also attended the Print Center's benefit auction where I absolutely fell in love with the piece above by Dominic Episcopo. As a proud patriot and a champion carnivore it's not often I see both of my passions come together so deliciously. After many bids and counter bids, the auction closed and the piece was mine!

Amy,
This shot I took in Bozeman, MT a couple of years ago is very much in keeping with the spirit of you post, though admittedly it's not quite as raw:

this is amazing. i'm stomping my head for not thinking of this myself ! there was this french comic I read as a kid (pif et hercule) which played on the expression as well as a restaurant called "les United Steaks de la Mere Ika" (united steaks of Mother Ika). You can imagine the instant flashback in my brain upon seeing this image, and the frustration of, now, not being able to take this shot, since episcopo went first ;)

carry on with the great work

Episcopo did a similar shot for Laurel Ptak's "Is it possible to make a photograph of New Jersey..." show. I think it's a great concept and look. I bet his butcher is happy.
