Wednesday I took a train down to Baltimore to give an artist talk and meet with students at Maryland Institute College of Art. Thank you to the faculty and students of MICA's photography department and all the folks who turned out for my talk. Thank you to the students for sharing your impressive and thought provoking work. And a big thank you to Alex Heilner for being a champ and driving me all the way back home to New York.

The blog is going to be a little light this week because my dance card is fully punched.

This weekend is all about the art fairs in New York. If you are in town, please stop the Robert Koch Gallery booth at the Armory Show Modern to see work from my Domesticated series.

Also, if you are in Richmond this Wednesday I will be giving public lecture at Virginia Commonwealth University and then meeting with VCUarts students on Thursday.

Before the week gets away from me I wanted to extend a big thank you to the hundred or so folks that braved the cold on Thursday to attend my lecture at the University of Pennsylvania. I also want to thank the wonderful students in the Penn Design MFA program I met with on Friday. Your work is truly impressive and your commitment is inspiring.

Thursday morning I am taking a quick train to Philadelphia to participate in the University of Pennsylvania's Visiting Artists program. Later that day I am giving a public lecture and on Friday I will be doing studio visits with the MFA students. The lecture is co-sponsored by the Print Center and is free and open to the public. I encourage everyone in the Philly metro area to come out and say hi.

Thank You Syracuse

Today I returned to New York City after two action packed days as a visiting artist in the Art Photography department at Syracuse University. I was honored to have the opportunity to share my work with the students and spend time with them discussing their work during studio visits and crits. The students at Syracuse are extremely committed and were enthusiastic with their generosity. They made me feel like a rock star.

A real highlight was sitting in on a grad critique by the great Doug Dubois. His teaching style energized me and I hope to bring some of his energy into my classrooms at Parsons and the SVA. I owe a big thank you to Doug for inviting me to his wonderful program and being such a strong advocate of my work.

Also, a big thank you to Emily Vey Duke for arranging my presentation and making me feel so welcome.
